Your journey to Berne sounds gruelling. Hope you have confirmed accommodation on the Trans-Siberian - not sure local trains across Siberia would be a good idea...! Please forgive the fatherly observation but I couldn't help noticing the lack of fruit and veg/salad in the photo of your repast - essential if you are to remain "regular guys"!

We found the take away food in Italian Railway stations good and good value too :o)
