A Grand Day Out

We couldn't come this close and not visit the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately the options for getting there from Vegas independently - a 550 mile round trip - were limited, so we opted for a bus tour.

First stop was the Hoover Dam, an immense concrete structure built during the Great Depression.

Then it was on to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It may have been a long journey, but it was well worth it. These pictures don't even begin to capture the view.

I agree photos would never capture the grandeur of the Grand Canyon. I will never forget the first time I saw it.
